I bought this as an upgrade from my Sony Noise Canceling NWZ738 player who has used my Rhapsody to go – it is now my wife Rhapsody To Go Sony Walkman X Series admirably as a replacement. Rhapsody syncs perfectly with the Walkman and a lot of sounds I’ve come to love so much. The basis of my report, I compare to other players I’ve owned Rhapsody – P2 Samsung, iRiver Clix2, Sony Walkman NWZ738 – and since it is obviously intended for the iPod Touch, I will also compare . Thus, to touch the screen, I am examining my Archos 604, 605 and 5 units. Lets just say that I have a dependency PGR! That’s what I like about my new Sony Walkman X Series: 1. Sound – as with my other Walkman, the sound is fantastic. I’m not exactly an audiophile, but this is to describe the sound: A powerful yet crisp low, a very responsible, very clear and precise ways, not the distortions that can detect at all (I believe with my EU 11 Pro headphones can hear the distortion in all my other players). To my ears, the combination of the EU with my Walkman headphones as good as sound, it is in the notebook world. Comparison: Clix 2 is dry, one could even say very well, but lacks power at low P2 Samsung is a little blurred – especially in what was presented in the form that I love, has not Touch same fullness of sound, it is not driving, the Archos is not as strong. 2. Screen – OLED touch screen is beautiful to watch. The colors are bright and vivid and the images are big and bold and beautiful. We particularly appreciate the album is displayed in a size large enough to really appreciate. One benefit of plastic which makes it very grippable. The weight is probably the same as the Touch – is a good weight to it. The touch screen of the one player who can beat the compactness of X is probably the Samsung P2. 7. Aesthetics – I love the bright, glossy black finish on the front and rear. It is highly technical, was certainly a different direction that the iPhone look elegant flare. It is interesting and different, but personally I prefer the aesthetic touch. 8. Rhapsody DNA – lets not forget why we bought the X in the first place, we will work with Rhapsody To Go subscription (oigo or Napster). This is probably the best player I’ve found that support Rhapsody. Even better, I can not load the music player using Rhapsody MediaMonkey, and they all coexist happily together. 9. Touchscreen – yes I love touch screens, as shown by my Archos, Touch, P2, and so on. This is a very good touch screen, very sensitive and easy to use. The touch interface is well designed, do not always struggle with hitting the right button – as was the case with the key time to time. Comparison: Well, I must give the nod to an Archos on this, I want a touchscreen that works with a pen in a crack. 10. Battery life – Excellent! I do not see advertising 30 hours, more than 10 +, unless you disable all the improvements that make the sound very pleasant to listen. Comparison: most seem to have much juice to the Touch, or Clix2 units Archos insurance. 11. Built in things of pleasure – which has built a nice interface to YouTube, YouTube videos look fantastic on this screen. Also included free with slacker music (I guess you have to listen to the ads either). I think we are in contact with a career built on money in the features. 12. Wifi – connected to my wifi no problem and could see YouTube in a snap. 13. Noise Cancellation – good feature, but do not use it much. The helmet is nice, Sony made a very decent Earbud only factor that is very comfortable. So what is not? Here are some of my minor criticisms of the Sony Walkman X Series: 1. Shortage of materials – your story without end, once out of the apple happy place . . . good luck in finding such cases and their beautiful new player. However, I was able to find a good deal through the I-nique, I am very happy with it. 2. Price – yes, it’s a little expensive for the 16 GB player. If the price is a concern that you want to go in May with the Walkman 738 has about the same sound and friendship Rhapsody at a price much lower. 3. No App Store – Need I say more? 4. Web browser – I tested it and it’s really horrible. Fortunately I do not care, do not buy the web browser. But if we are going to have to make at least one that is more usable. 5. Not appear to support Rhapsody Channels. My old Clix2 I am a bit disappointed. I hope that this series in a future firmware. In short, if price is no concern and does not care about their correspondence and accessories that you just have the best sound for your Rhapsody To Go subscription, this unit is for you! Its beautiful, it sounds good, the screen is impressive and the best of all . . . your NEW! On the other hand, if you like iTunes, do not even know what is Rhapsody, which are not picky about sound, and really the skin of a leopard on your PC or perhaps more with a kind of iPod apple.
