My 360 setup using the MixAmp-$129, Sennheiser HD650-$330, Logitech mic-$20. Optical cable. ULTIMATE sound setup. Especially with those Sennheisers (reg. $600) Awesome headphones. MixAmp is great. All digital, all the time! =) ***NOTE*** I also have a Zalman clip on mic I use so this thing isn’t in my face all the time . I actually perfer the stand up mic better.
Hey SunShyne, Does the Astro MixAmp really support the HD650s..? I hear/read that it won’t handle the power required for the HD650 to really shine and sound good.
Please advise. thanks.
@FreakinJesse if you had bothered to look at the FAQ under products, second question. it answers that right there. or heck even simpler. could’a looked at the Mixers page says right there that the Y-adapter is seprate and avalable for pruchace from them. why in the world they seperated them besides make’n a few extra bucks I’m not sure lmao. etherway hope that helps xD
@protoman1214
Im worrying about that to because i have a pair of sennheisers and i want a mixamp for my pc an consoles. but i dotn know if there’s a Y-adapter included with the 2010 mixamp.
so if you order just the mixamp you also get that y-adapter for use with your own headphones/mic??
cuz on the website there is a disclaimer saying if you want to use a 3rd party headset, you have to buy the y-adapter, which implies it doesn’t come with the mixamp.
Any clarification is greatly appreciated.
How sensitive that mic is, do you have to be close to it to be heard? I have mixamp with zalman clip on mic and i have to shove that fucker down my throat if i want people to hear me
There are way better headsets out there, But astro sells you the headset only, for almost $200 and they are crap. The mix amp is good and gets the job done.
Astro headsets are mediocre (sound wise) the only good thing about them is the comfort and flexibility it has on the positioning of the mic. (You can place the mic on the left or right side of the headset)
cuz its crap, astros are way overhyped, the only good thing about it is the mix amp.
The only true 5.1 Dolby (Dolby Digital Certified) with a selectable level subwoofer, center, front, side, dinamic range and time delay are the Trittons AX PROs (under $200)

@moopplus1
Yes you have because otherwise your mic won’t work with your 360 and because u dont have surround if u dont have a mixamp.
if i get a pair of astros do i need to get a mixamp for it to work for my xbox 360?

The Astro A40 Headset will rape your Sennheiser HD650
you will get a special cable to use. you put in the cable in the headphone jack in the controller, and the other part into the mixamp
How did you get your HD650s so cheap?
